OHIOANS FOR JD INC. (“O4JD”) is a joint fundraising committee composed of JD VANCE FOR SENATE INC. (“JDV4S”) and WORKING FOR OHIO (“W4O”) (together, the “Committees”). O4JD shall allocate any contributions it receives, from sources and in amounts that are permissible under the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971, 52 U.S.C. § 30101, et seq., as amended (“the Act”), to and among the Committees pursuant to the Act and this method:
For contributions received from individuals and non-multicandidate committees:
1. JD Vance for Senate Inc. shall receive, for deposit in its general account, the first $2,900 of any single contribution or series of aggregated contributions, designated for the primary election; and then
2. Working for Ohio shall receive, for deposit in its federal account, the next $5,000 of any single contribution or series of aggregated contributions; provided, however, that Working for Ohio shall not receive from any single contributor a single contribution or aggregate contributions exceeding $5,000 in 2021 and $5,000 in 2022; and then
3. JD Vance for Senate Inc. shall receive, for deposit in its general account, the final $2,900 of any single contribution or series of aggregated contributions, designated for the general election.
For contributions received from multi-candidate committees:
1. JD Vance for Senate Inc. shall receive, for deposit in its general account, the first $5,000 of any single contribution or series of aggregated contributions, designated for the primary election; and then
2. Working for Ohio shall receive, for deposit in its federal account, the next $5,000 of any single contribution or series of aggregated contributions; provided, however, that Working for Ohio shall not receive from any single contributor a single contribution or aggregate contributions exceeding $5,000 in 2021 and $5,000 in 2022; and then
3. JD Vance for Senate Inc. shall receive, for deposit in its general account, the final $5,000 of any single contribution or series of aggregated contributions, designated for the general election.
The contributor’s signature on a check or other similar authorization of a contribution shall serve as written designation of his or her contribution to the particular elections described above.
For any contribution or portion of a contribution otherwise permissible under the Act, but which would cause a contributor to exceed any applicable Federal contribution limit to a specific Committee, O4JD shall reallocate the excessive portion of such contribution to the remaining Committee(s), to the extent permitted by the Act, according to this allocation formula. O4JD shall refund to the contributor any contribution or portion of a contribution that would cause a contributor to exceed any applicable Federal contribution limit, even after re-allocation, or that is otherwise impermissible under the Act. Any contributor may designate his or her contribution to a specific Committee(s), to the extent permitted by the Act. O4JD will not reallocate any contribution or portion of a contribution so designated, that causes the contributor to exceed the contribution limit to the designated Committee, without the contributor’s prior written permission as required by law. Alternatively, any contributor may make a contribution payable directly to any of the specific Committee(s) listed in the first paragraph of this notice.
Contributions to Ohioans for JD Inc., or to any of the Committees individually, are not deductible as charitable contributions for Federal income tax purposes. All funds received in response to this solicitation are subject to federal contribution limits and source prohibitions. The maximum amount an individual or a non-multicandidate federal political committee may contribute to O4JD is $15,800. The maximum amount a multicandidate political committee may contribute is $20,000. Contributions in any amount from corporations, labor unions, foreign nationals without “Green Cards,” federal government contractors, or another person’s or entity’s funds are prohibited.
Federal law requires us to use best efforts to collect and report the name, mailing address, occupation, and employer of each individual whose aggregate contributions exceed $200 in an election cycle or calendar year, as applicable.
