Have you seen the latest from New York City?
Mayor Zohran Mamdani is rolling out city-run grocery stores—his taxpayer-funded, government-controlled food program—and he’s requiring ID to prevent non-residents (and non-citizens of NYC) from walking in and snatching up the discounted food.
Democrats are perfectly fine putting up barriers and demanding identification when it comes to rationing cheap groceries. But the second we talk about protecting the integrity of our elections, they act like requiring ID is some kind of civil rights violation.
Let that sink in. They’re willing to check IDs to stop outsiders from accessing subsidized food, yet the entire Democrat Party opposes requiring identification and proof of citizenship so non-citizens can’t vote.
It’s the same principle.
If ID is good enough to keep non-residents out of a communist-style grocery store, it should be more than good enough to keep non-citizens out of our elections.
This double standard is indefensible. Voting is a significant right reserved for American citizens. It’s not a privilege to be handed out to whoever shows up.
That’s why we must pass the SAVE Act. This common-sense legislation simply requires proof of citizenship when registering to vote.
No loopholes. No excuses. Just basic election security that every American should support.
