I am Rolando Rodriguez, I was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley and I live one mile from the Rio Grande river. In June 2020, I received a phone call at 3:00 am from two friends from Latinos for Trump, an organization to which I proudly belong. The Rio Grande Valley has been democrat for more than 100 years, and in this phone call my friends urged me to inform my community of what was coming to our nation if we Hispanics did not stand up for our godly values. After this call, I turned off the lights, lifted my hands, and prayed to God asking for an idea to reach out to my community with. Right there, I got the idea to drive around with two Trump flags on the back of my truck, which back then was not popular. I drove around for about two weeks and it was great success. So on the 4th of july I invited two of the most red-bone republicans I know to begin a Trump train, and our 5-car train grew to eventually become around 6,000 cars the last Saturday before election. In four months we turned South Texas red and this movement spread throughout the nation. Working in this grassroots movement I have learned that we the people do not need politicians any longer, they are the ones destroying this country. What we need are people of principles, values and patriotism who love our nation to step up and run for office, people like you and me.
