I choose to run after seeing my opponent of 20 years / 10 terms continue to be guided by the house democratic leaders rather than the constituents of Weymouth and precinct 2 of Hingham. My opponent has voted for 2 gas taxes in 2020 alone. My opponent has a 0% rating by the MA Citizens for Lmiited Taxation. My opponent puts his concerns for maintaining his committee chair ahead of making the tough choices to improve his state and district. As a member of the Weymouth Planning Board and a small business owner, I have been encouraged to run by other small business owners and citizens. So many have told me of the struggles of this difficult year of 2020 with no response or visiblity from the current office holder.
I do not look upon this role as a career, but instead to be a public servant. For ten terms my opponent has made this his career and losing touch with the realities of this age of pandemic, unemployment and uncertainty.
We as citizens of MA have a history of rebelling against excessive government control that tries to dictate how we live our lives and prosper. We have lost this tradition and need to get it back. We are a state of citizens who have always wanted the independence to chose to be left alone and choose how we conduct our lives and raise our families. Please help us bring our historic traditions back.
