Hello! 

My name is Sam Douglass and I'm a lifelong NEK Vermonter running for Vermont State Senate in Orleans County.  I'm endorsed by Governor Phil Scott and the vast majority of the Northeast Kingdom legislators.  

I'm running because I love this region and I want to help the members of our communities live their lives affordably and in the way they want to.  This is a beautiful place to live and raise a family, with fantastic people and a great diversity of culture.  

I live like many people in the area, I rent my home, often live paycheck-to-paycheck, and it hurts to see my grocery bill. I am not a wealthy person and going to Montpelier will not help my bottom-line.  Despite this, I want to ensure that our communities receive the best representation possible and that's why I'm sacrificing to go to Montpelier.

I believe in a community focused Vermont where the members of our communities can come together and find common solutions to our problems, without the unnessessary involvement of government. Vermont sized problems require Vermont sized solutions.  

The Northeast Kingdom faces different challenges than Chittenden County and our region needs representation that will keep that in mind in Montpelier.  We need a Senator who remembers who they represent!
