Contributions to Smiley for Washington, Inc. are not tax-deductible as charitable contributions. The maximum amount an individual may contribute is $2,900 per election. All contributions made after 11/8/22 and up to the federal limit will be designated first to 2022 general election debt, then designated to the Smiley for Washington-Legal Fund to defray the legal and accounting costs associated with post-election activity. Federal multicandidate PACs may contribute up to $5,000 toward 2022 general election debt and $5,000 to the Legal Fund and contributions will be allocated as described above. Contributions from corporations, labor unions, federal contractors, and foreign nationals (non-green card holders) are prohibited. Contributions must be made from personal funds and may not be reimbursed by any other person. Federal law requires us to use our best efforts to obtain and report the name, mailing address, occupation, and name of employer for each individual whose contributions aggregate in excess of $200 in an election cycle.
