A retired Marine Colonel, David Stuebe’s leadership and dedication have been proven through decades of military service and continued commitment to his community. As Mayor of Washougal, he focused on building a safer, stronger city where families and businesses can thrive—and he’s bringing that same results-driven leadership to Olympia.
Drawing on his experience, Stuebe is focused on the issues that matter most in Southwest Washington: strengthening public safety, expanding access to affordable housing, and supporting economic growth that benefits working families.
“After serving our nation in the Marine Corps for decades, I understand the importance of safety, security, and unity,” Stuebe said. “As Mayor, I’ve seen firsthand the challenges our communities face. In Olympia, I fought to keep taxes low for working families and pushed back against policies that make it harder to get ahead. I’m ready to keep that fight going and deliver real results.”
During his time in the state legislature, Stuebe worked to protect taxpayers and bring a commonsense, fiscally responsible approach to state government—standing up for Southwest Washington against policies that drive up costs and strain household budgets.
As Mayor of Washougal, Stuebe prioritized public safety by supporting law enforcement, strengthening community policing, and improving emergency response capabilities. He remains committed to ensuring communities across Southwest Washington are places where families feel secure, businesses can grow, and opportunity is within reach.
