Contributions to Tim Sheehy for Montana are not deductible as charitable donations for federal income tax purposes. An individual may contribute up to $9,900 (designating the first $3,300 for the general election, the next $3,300 for primary debt retirement, and the next $3,300 to the recount fund), while couples may contribute up to $19,800 (designating the first $3,300 each for the general election, the next $3,300 each for primary debt retirement, and the next $3,300 each to the recount fund). Federal multicandidate PACs may contribute up to $15,000 (designating the first $5,000 for the general election, the next $5,000 for primary debt retirement, and the next $5,000 to the recount fund). Contributions from corporations, labor organizations, national banks, foreign nationals (without “green cards”), and federal government contractors are prohibited. Federal law requires us to use our best efforts to collect and report the name, address, occupation and name of employer of individuals whose aggregate contributions exceed $200 per election.
